UNITAC is recruiting three remote positions through the United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) to support the project “Just transitions in vulnerable places: digital tools and capacity for inclusive, smart and resilient urban recovery.”

In nearly five years, the United Nations Innovation Technology Accelerator for Cities (UNITAC-Hamburg) has evolved from a visionary concept into a key innovation lab shaping urban futures.

The Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2025 focused on accelerating progress toward the SDGs by fostering renewed cooperation and practical solutions. The event, held from June 2-3 convened high-level representatives from governments and international organizations.

On February 19-20 2025, the United Nations Technology Innovation Accelerator for Cities (UNITAC) and the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) jointly hosted the conference Liberty, Equality, Innovations - Digital Tools and Data for Ukrainian Recovery.

The conference, organized by UNITAC and Kyiv School of Economics, will critically examine the role of innovative digital tools and their potential application in the post-war recovery of Ukraine’s cities and communities.

The Twelfth Session of the World Urban Forum took place in Cairo from 4-8 November 2024. UNITAC was represented with a booth at the Urban Expo and participated in several sessions together with its partners.

UNITAC Hamburg organized and hosted the "Urban Tech for Equity" conference from June 18th to 20th, 2024. This significant event has taken place as part of UN-Habitat's consultations to develop International Guidelines on People-Centred Smart Cities.

UN-Habitat has launched an open online consultation for external stakeholders to contribute with views, inputs and ideas on how to leverage technologies, data and innovation for sustainable urban development and to address peoples’ needs to leave no one behind.
